#LearnTheLesson Campaign

Image
One of our main aims at GD Teen Recruitment is to make the workplace fairer for young people; particularly those that are aged between 16- 18 years of age. We know that bosses may bend the rules to sometimes manipulate and take advantage of young people whilst being paid the bare minimum. That is why we have created the #LearnTheLesson campaign, primarily targeting young people by expanding their knowledge on what's right and what's wrong. As you can see on the post above, we have outlined just a few of the rules that companies/ employers need to follow and what you can do if they seem to be breaking the law. 1) Minimum wage- All employers are required to pay at least £4.81 per hour for anyone aged between 16 up until the age of 18. This is a legal requirement and should be adhered to at all times. Companies may pay more which is a bonus, however if they pay less, seek immediate support.  2) When can't I work?- We've just outlined just a couple of circumstances when 1...

Here at GD Teen Recruitment, we understand how stressful Results Day can be. We have created our 5 Results Day Tips if you may be feeling stressed or anxious.  1- Don't bottle up your feelings- It is always good to talk. If you are feeling stressed or anxious, it's OK. It's a natural emotion to feel. Speak to a family member or a trusted adult if you wish to. But don't bottle it up, it's OK to talk. Even if it's the smallest of things. 2- Get plenty of rest- It's vital you get a good night's sleep in before results day. This will make you feel refreshed for the morning ahead.  3- Don't be alone- Although you might not want your mum or dad or guardian in the results venue, it's important you are with trusted friends or going home to someone after. Being all alone can put a lot of pressure on you and you may start to overthink things. Remember there is no failure, there are just other options. 4- Don't panic- We know that there might be certa...

Our Top Tips!

Here at GD Teen Recruitment, we have been contacting/ exposed to some key individuals with lots of experience in the trade of recruitment.  As a young person myself, I can understand and empathise with young people when they state they may feel overwhelmed about the amount of information they may receive when looking for a job. Or that they may feel overwhelmed about the amount of signposting the education system does within their education setting.  Therefore, I took the step to reduce all the advice into 4 steps as you can see above. Simplifying 20,000 job searching tips you may find online into 4 memorable key points will help you refine your job search making it the right job for you.  1) Make use of feedback given-  Although many employees don't get feedback until reaching the interview stage, don't ever be afraid to ask what you could do to improve your professional profile. It will only help you in the future.  2) Make your online presence, present...
